|| Parson’s Chicken and Fish
2952 W Armitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60647 || $
This spot caters to the girl who grew up in the South in me by dishing up fried comfort food. Their fried chicken and fish pairs well with their delicious sides like cheese curd fritters and refreshing cocktails. Hush puppies! Cheerwine! Oysters! Fried chicken! The food makes me feel like I’m back below the Mason-Dixon line y’all, but the bars ambiance is truly as hipster Chicago as they come. Sit at the bar inside or enjoy your meal out back in their large courtyard, complete with red and white umbrellas and strings of lights hanging overhead.
|| Parlor Pizza

Parlor is great for their extensive list of wood-fired pizza and vivacious atmosphere. Sit outside on their massive patio and enjoy thin crust pizzas ranging from guac to gyro to egg’s benedict. Come for brunch and hit up their Bloody Mary bar, where you can build your own cocktail with as many toppings as you want!
|| Three Dots and a Dash
435 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60654 || $
This bar is among the best tiki bars and it makes for a fun getaway from the city. Their nonchalant entrance is in the alleyway off Hubbard. If you didn’t know it was there, you might miss it completely. But climb down the dark stairway past a wall of skulls and enter a dark tropical paradise. The name is morse code for ‘V’ (as in victory) and the bar channels the Polynesian mystique that charmed many during World War II. Their fun cocktails come serve in an array of tiki cups and are sure to transport you to a beach somewhere warm.
|| Headquarters Beercade
